Description:
The fish has two separate dorsal fins, the first having 7 spines (with the 4th spine being the longest) and the second having 1 spine and 9 soft rays. The anal fin is equipped with 2 spines and 8 soft rays. There are 12–14 developed gill rakers on the first gill arch. The caudal fin is moderately rounded. The coloration is light pinkish-grey dorsally, transitioning to silvery on the sides and ventrally. There is a dark brown spot on the scales on the side of the body below the lateral line, forming longitudinal rows. First dorsal fin exhibits a large black spot in the outer posterior part of the fin and both the anal and caudal fins have a blackish outer margin.
