Description:
These small, pea-like crabs have triangular meri on their third maxillepeds. They differ from other crabs by having the opening for the afferent respiratory current adjacent to the endostome, which is a plate-like structure that lines the mouth. There is a distinct canal along the sides of the buccal cavity, which is the mouth cavity. The sides of the carapace are expanded into a clypeiform process, which is a plate-like structure.
