Description:
The body is elongated and compressed, featuring a first dorsal fin that is very tall with approximately 42–49 rays and the middle rays being the longest. There are two separate anal fins with 12–17 and 6–7 rays, respectively. The pectoral fins are falcate, comprising 17–20 rays. The body is dark bluish-violet dorsally and silvery white ventrally. The membrane of the first dorsal fin is dark blue with numerous small black spots. Additionally, there are around 20 horizontal bars on the body, each composed of several pale blue spots.

Epipelagic, oceanodromous (depth range 0-30m)
