Description:
The body depth is 2.4–3.0 times the standard length (SL). The edge of the maxilla lacks a distinct lobe and there is no toothed hypomaxilla. The swim bladder has two tubes that extend posteriorly into the body muscles on either side of the haemal spine. In terms of coloration, there is no discernible or distinctive color pattern.

Inshore species, apparently occurring also in rivers
