Description:
Snout is moderately long and broad. Mouth with short labial furrows, upper ones slightly longer than lower ones. Gill slits large, width of longest one almost equal to eye length. First dorsal fin small, its origin set forward, over pectoral fin bases. Second dorsal fin slightly smaller than first dorsal fin, but almost twice the size of anal fin. Caudal fin with small lower lobe. First and second dorsal fin margins often with darker margins.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Continental shelf and slope between 78–1 000 m or more; often in oxygen-poor water masses. Bay of Bengal.
