Description:
Head of the yellow-bellied sea snake is slightly small, Body elongate but not markedly slender anteriorly. Body scales in thickest part of body more or less quadrangular or hexagonal in shape and juxtaposed. It has ne pre-ocular plate and two post-ocular plates. 29–31 scale rows on neck, 41–46 on body 55 black bands are found in this type of sea snake.
