Description:
Typically, there is only one supralabial scale (specifically, the fourth one) adjacent to the eye. The snake has 24–2 scale rows around the neck and 32–3 scale rows around the body. The ventrals number between 28 and 313. Maxillary teeth behind the fangs range from 6 to 8, although rarely there are instances with 6 or 9 teeth. In terms of coloration, the body is yellow or grayish on the upper side and yellow-whitish on the lower side, featuring 52–0 dark or black bands. The head is dark with specks of olive or yellowish markings on the prefrontal area and around the eye.
