Description:
The body is robust, markedly elongated and generally cylindrical except for the compressed head and the latter portion of the tail. The eye is positioned above the midpoint of the mouth. The front nostril located near the tip of the snout that has a tubular shape and a V-shaped indentation. The rear nostril situated above the front edge of the eye is oval with a raised rim. Snout is blunt and slightly protrudes ahead of the lower jaw. Both the dorsal and anal fins are extremely low. The pectoral fin is located in the middle of the body. The dorsal and anal fins merge seamlessly with the caudal fin.
