The cells exhibit a slightly elongated shape, with their length slightly exceeding their width. They have a small apical horn and may feature a variable number of antapical spines. The cingulum is situated in a central, medial position, and it is displaced by a width that is at least twice its own. The sulcus is broad towards the posterior region of the cell but becomes narrower as it moves anteriorly, with the narrowest point occurring between the two ends of the girdle. The thecal plates of these cells are relatively heavily ornamented, featuring reticulations around numerous trichocyst pores, which add to their distinctive appearance.
