Description:
The shell is medium-sized, thick, and solid. The lunule is lanceolate flattish and has concentric growth marks and a fine peripheral groove. The escutcheon is long and narrow. The hinge has 3 cardinal teeth at each valve. The pallial sinus is very shallow. The inner margins are finely crenulated. The color of the outer surface is pale brown, often with various patterns of darker brown blotches and mottling. The inner surface is smooth and white.
