Fibularia ovulum is a small sea urchin with a somewhat oval shape, but it’s more or less flattened. It has a slight pointedness towards the front and a rounded or truncated rear end. The apical system is in the center of the aboral side, while the peristome is located in the center of the oral side. It possesses Aristotle’s lantern, which is a chewing apparatus. The petals are short, with each having 6-7 pore pairs, and the pores are relatively large and rounded. The pores at the distal end tend to penetrate the test obliquely. The primary tubercles are irregularly distributed across the test. The peristome has an oval shape and is recessed, while the periproct is obliquely positioned and rhombic in shape.
