Description:
The body is elongated and elliptical with a rounded belly lacking scutes. Dorsal fin originates behind the mid-point of the body and the pelvic fins are positioned below the base of the dorsal fin. There are 19–26 gill rakers on the lower limb of the first arch. In terms of coloration, the back displays an iridescent blue hue, complemented by a shiny golden brass line below. The flanks have a silvery appearance and the caudal fin features a dark hind margin.
