The mouth-plate of Diphyes dispar remains whole and undivided. The nectosac proper has a sub-cylindrical shape. The somatocyst is elongated and thin, resembling a spindle. The hydroecium is deep and conical, and it exhibits ridges and ostial teeth similar to those in the anterior nectophore. The somatocyst is not present. The pedicular canal is located within a triangular extension, entering the nectosac slightly below its apex. There are four radial canals, which are simple and straight. The hydroecium is formed by two hydroecial wings. The gonophores are small, numbering 2 or 3, and they are of the same sex.
