Description:
It has moderately elongated and compressed body.It typically grows up to about 10 cm in length.Head is relatively large with a blunt snout.Eyes are large and well-adapted for deep-sea vision.It possesses well-developed light organs (photophores), especially a prominent suprapectoral organ on the head. Mouth is terminal and large, extending beyond the posterior edge of the eye.
