Classification:
Kingdom: Plantae
Phylum: Charophyta
Class: Zygnematophyceae
Order: Desmidiales
Family: Desmidiaceae
Description:
The cell body of this organism is constricted in the middle, with a narrow-linear part forming an acute opening outward. Its dimensions typically fall within the range of 11 to 22 μm in length and 24 to 39 μm in width, resulting in a length-to-width ratio (L/W) of approximately 2. The constriction measures about 21 to 28 μm in width. When viewed from the side, the cells take on a triangular shape, with straight sides and rounded angles. At the apex of each cell, there is a broad area that features a short connecting process at each apical angle. In the middle of this area, an oblong hollow cavity forms between adjacent cells. The semicells, when viewed from the top, are transversely subrectangular, with obliquely truncated lateral margins. Additionally, the filaments of this organism appear twisted.
