Description:
The head has a deep notch at the front, where it holds two small tentacles. The rear edge of the head is wider and has rounded corners. There are two pairs of large eyes, with the front pair situated at the anterior border of the basal segment. The papillae are either pear-shaped or spindle-shaped, and the maxillary segment lacks papillae. The jaws have 9-10 teeth, with two or three at each end, although they may not be very distinct. The initial foot consists only of a long and tapering dorsal cirrus with a lobe underneath it, along with the ventral setigerous division, which comprises 6-8 lobes and the ventral cirrus.
