Description:
Shell small to medium, convex and equivalve. Auricles small and subequal. Sculpture consists of fine radial striae and 6-8 large folds. The ribs on the left valve more rounded and more elevated than those on the right valve; the interspaces are also broader and deeper. Shell usually white or red and ornamented with brown or violet blotches, left valve orange red and with whitish patches while the right white with reddish specks on the ribs and on the margin. On the interior glossy white with broad brown rim. Hinge area almost brown
