Description:
D1 VIII; D2 I/29; P1 21; P2 I/5; A III/24-26. Body color bluish green above, silvery below; caudal fin bright red. Sometimes a yellow mid-lateral stripe. Opercle with a small black spot. Body elongate, compressed and slender. Upper jaw with minute teeth. Margin of opercular membrane smooth. 31-38 scutes. Two separate dorsal fin.
