A species of Cynoglossus having 10 rays in caudal fin; angle of mouth nearer to snout tip than to gill opening; cleft of mouth extending far back beyond hind margin of fixed eye; two lateral lines on eyed side; 14–16 scale rows between the lateral lines; dorsal fin with 100–106 rays, anal fin with 78–84 rays; scales ctenoid on both sides; light brown on eyed side with dark mottling forming diffuse, irregular cross bands
