The shell is small, rhomboidal, moderately convex, thin, and equivalve. The shell is ornamented with fine radial riblets, which are lines that radiate from the umbones, or the point at which the two valves of the shell meet. Hinge is edentulous, meaning that there are no teeth on the hinge. The ligament is internal. There is a large posterior adductor muscle scar, which is a scar on the inside of the shell where the main muscle that closes the shell attaches. The color of the outer surface of the shell is creamy-white, and the interior is shiny white.
