The cells of this species are relatively small, with dimensions typically falling within a range of (22.5-39)-47 μm in length and (15.4-24)-30 μm in width. The isthmus, the narrow part connecting the semicells, has a width of (5.6-8.6)-9 μm. The length-to-width ratio (L/W) is approximately 1.7, indicating a moderately elongated shape. The semicells themselves have a pyramidal shape, with a slightly flattened apex. When viewed from the side, they appear elliptical ovoid, and from the apical view, they exhibit an elliptical shape. The cell wall is dotted, adding to the distinctive features of this species.
