Description:
The cells are disc-shaped, cylindrical, or wedge-shaped, and are typically found alone. They have a distinct rosette of large holes in the center of the valve and numerous chloroplasts.In simpler terms, the cells are round, long and thin, or triangular in shape. They are usually found by themselves and have a group of larger holes in the middle of the top of the cell. These cells also have many chloroplasts.
