Description:
The valves have a slightly convex shape with a central depression. There’s a noticeable arrangement of large areolae in the center, forming a distinct rosette. On the valve face, the areolae are organized into narrow groups, bordered by hyaline lines. In the valve’s center, these areolae create intersecting arcs, resembling spiraling rows.Hyaline lines are associated with the labiate processes at the valve’s edge. A single ring of marginal labiate processes is situated 3-4 areolae away from the valve margin and can be observed under light microscopy. Additionally, two larger processes spaced approximately 135 degrees apart are visible with the same level of magnification.
