The crab’s carapace is pentagonal in shape. The upper surface of the carapace is velvety due to the presence of sponges. The frontal and lateral teeth are prominent but blunt. The supraorbital margin also has a prominent blunt tooth. The chelipeds are thick and heavy, and have tubercles. The dorsal surface of the carapace is chocolaty brown in color. The chela and ambulatory legs are reddish-brown.
