The valves are slightly convex with a central depression, featuring a prominent rosette of large areolae at the center. On the valve face, the areolae are arranged in narrow groups, outlined by hyaline lines. These central areolae form intersecting arcs, resembling spiraling rows. Hyaline lines are linked to the labiate processes at the valve’s edge. A single ring of marginal labiate processes is positioned 3-4 areolae away from the valve margin and is visible under light microscopy. Additionally, two larger processes, spaced about 135 degrees apart, can be seen at the same level of magnification.
