Description:
It typically has a cone-like shape colonies that may become more tubular. Juveniles feature a kite-shaped opercular opening while adults develop an oval-shaped one. The shell consists of six robust wall plates of roughly equal size. The narrow rostral plates stay distinct and do not merge with the rostrolateral plates. It is known for its vivid blue tissue that is accented with black and orange markings.
