Description:
The fish has a dusky yellow body with fine blue lines on the head across the eye, an ocellus on the rear dorsal fin, and upper tail base. Sometimes, there is a second ocellus on the dorsal fin further up the back. This species has the rear eye-spot further back on the tail rather than immediately behind the dorsal fin. It reaches a length of up to 10 cm.
