Chroococcus disperses, a cyanobacterium, displays a blue-green color and creates macroscopic mound-shaped colonies. These colonies house smaller units with somewhat undefined trichomes within their protective sheath. Chroococcus disperses typically forms colonies containing two, four, or eight cells, enclosed in a transparent sheath containing photosynthetic pigments. Being a prokaryotic organism, it lacks the membrane-bound organelles found in eukaryotes.
