Description:
This organism has two shells that are either elliptical or bipolar in shape. Each shell has a raised area at each pole with an eye spot. Each shell also has two or more lip-shaped structures with long tubes. These organisms are typically yellow or brown in color and range in size from 80 to 440 micrometers. They can be found individually, in pairs, or in colonies arranged in straight lines or a zigzag pattern. They have many small green bodies inside of them that help them to make food.
