Description:
This fish species is characterized by a body depth measuring 2.5–2.9 times the standard length (SL) for specimens ranging from 10 to 26 cm SL. The anal fin has 3 spines and 8 (rarely 7) soft rays. There are 16–18 rays in the pectoral fin. The lateral line consists of 47–51 scales, and there are 91–109 scales in the lateral scale series.In terms of coloration, individuals exhibit a dark brown to yellowish-brown body with slightly irregular dark blue lines on the head, body, and fins. Sometimes, these lines may be absent on the body and fins.
