Description:
Within this species, males display specific characteristics that differentiate them from their female counterparts. Notably, the first antenna (A1) in males is geniculate, featuring an elbow-like bend. In some cases, males may appear quite transparent. The posterior prosome somite is slightly asymmetrical, with the left side protruding further than the right. Additionally, prominent second spines can be observed between the lateral spines on the last prosome somite and the urosome. On the right fifth leg (P5), the extension on exopodal segment 2 boasts a rounded protrusion on the proximal portion, while exopodal segment 3’s claw is stout, featuring a spine on the inner margin and two spines on the outer margin. The left P5 exopodal segments 2 and 3 are equipped with long terminal fixed appendages, and the caudal rami, tail-like structures, are notably long and slender. In contrast, the female individuals in this species possess their own distinct features. Notably, a conspicuous central ball-like eye is a prominent characteristic. Similar to males, females may also exhibit transparency. The first antenna (A1) in females features strong spines on segments 1, 2, and 5. Like males, females have prominent second spines situated between the lateral spines on the last prosome somite and the urosome. In the case of the fifth leg (P5), exopodal segment 2’s inner edge spine does not reach the distal border of exopodal segment 3. Unlike males, females lack spines on the genital somite, and the anal somite is non-symmetrical and elongated, measuring twice the length of urosome somite 2. Similar to males, females also possess long and slender caudal rami. T
