Description:
The eyelid is moderately developed that is weaker at the front and extends onto the eye to the rear border of the pupil in large adults. The straight part of the lateral line typically has 27–42 strong scutes. In adults, the head and dorsal half of the body are brassy with a blue suffusion and covered in small blue-black spots. The ventral side of the body is generally silvery white, while the 2nd dorsal, anal, and caudal fins are electric blue. Pectoral fins are mostly pale yellow. Juveniles and young adults have a silvery grey head and body, with fins ranging from pale to dusky, except for yellow pectoral fins.
