Male:
In the male, the right P5 is asymmetrical, with the exopod lacking inner marginal spines. On the left side, the endopod has two terminal setae, and the left exopodite has elongated segments with long outer distal setae on segments 2 and 3.
Female:
The female is similar to Nannocalanus minor but has a urosome that is not as deeply indented into the prosome. Both the anterior cephalosome and posterior prosome have rounded shapes, and the last prosome somite may exhibit slight asymmetry. The P1 basis features a distinctive, weakly prehensile spine on its anterior side, with a short extension at its base that resembles a notch. There are strong setae on the caudal rami.
