Description:
Shell of medium size, narrowly elongate. Aperture small, outer lip slightly expanded, thickened, lirate internally, columella with callus and plaits at each end, stromboid notch weak, siphonal canal short. Sculptured with axial riblets which form small rounded knobs at the slightly angular mid-sutural periphery, shoulder of the body whorl rounded and with about 9 to 11 small, axially lengthened knobs, apertural varix swollen and crossed by numerous spiral threads. Colour usually cream and clouded with brown, often with two chocolate bands on the middle of the body whorl; inside of outer lip, inner half and base of columella rich dark purple brown, often a white band along the inner edge of the outer lip.
