Description:
Although slick, the texture is also slightly solid and succulent. The surface of the blade is locally corrugated and uneven. The blade has transversely aligned struts but is otherwise largely hollow and filled with mucilage. The thallus is simple, foliose, and upright. When the specimen is squeezed, the color turns dull reddish-brown.
