Description:
There are 16-17 rays in the pectoral fin and 31-36 lateral scale rows. The scales on the predorsal region extend forward to the vertical line through the posterior margin of the preopercle, occasionally reaching slightly beyond this point. Body is adorned with dark blotches which may variably create 6-7 diffuse dark blotches of different sizes along the body. Typically, the trunk does not exhibit a discernible diagnostic pattern of pigment.
