Description:
Pelvic fins are fused in the middle. The scales are ctenoid, except for those on the nape, pectoral base and breast which are cycloid. There is a longitudinal pattern of sensory-papillae rows on the cheek and a uniserial transverse row of sensory papillae is located just behind the chin. There are 18 rays in the pectoral fin. The coloration ranges from pale brown to brownish, featuring a small dark brown to blackish blotch above the rear corner of the opercle. Numerous bright pale-blue spots are present on the body, dorsal fin and caudal fin.
