Description:
The terminal dorsal and anal fin rays appear finlet-like in adults, approximately twice the length of adjacent rays and slightly more separated. But connected by interradial membranes. The pectoral fins are long and falcate and the lateral line is gently arched anteriorly with its straight part that typically having 0–10 scales and 36–49 scutes. Regarding coloration, the fish exhibits a bright olive-green color dorsally, yellowish-green laterally and whitish ventrally. Dorso-laterally, there are 9 or 10 faint grey bars and there is a black spot which slightly smaller than the eye, on the upper margin of the opercle and the adjacent area of the shoulder.
