The corallites come in circular shapes and are arranged from being widely spread apart to tightly packed. Colonies can take on spherical, columnar, or flattened forms. They have alternating long and short septa, typically featuring small paliform lobes. The width of the calices, or the central parts of the corallites, varies significantly, with most of this variation observed among different colonies rather than within a single colony. The coloration is usually cream or orange on reef flats, often displaying concentric colors around the central oral discs.
