The colonies come in irregular, somewhat massive shapes or encrusting formations. The corallites are circular in structure. The coloration displays a mix of mottled or even green and brown shades, with darker centers (calices). The septa, the structures inside the corallites, narrow from the wall to the central columella, arranged in three cycles. The septa in the first cycle are typically prominent, set far apart, and feature well-developed paliform lobes. Most colonies exhibit some degree of “groove and tubercle” structures.
