The front of the crab has two straight, lateral lobes and a slightly indented central rostrum. The lateral spine is about 20% of the width of the carapace. The cheliped has a five-lobed mid-palmar ridge, with the second and fourth lobes pointed and the second lobe being the largest. The outer surface of the dactylus (finger-like claw) has a finely milled ridge in males, but not in females.
