The shell is sizable and has substantial thickness. The central part of the shoulder slope is separated into two distinct ribs by a well-defined spiral groove. Typically, the shell is broader than it is long and has a relatively flat, wide, and low conical shape. It features a convex spire and a narrow, indented suture located beneath a flat ridge, followed by a narrow groove, a second ridge, and a slightly broader groove. Both ridges are covered in numerous fine lines running in the axial direction, which are more pronounced on the earlier whorls, creating a checkered pattern.
