Description:
Shell shape similar to that of Anadara rhombea but thinner and much smaller in size; small, 27 mm length, 26.5 mm height and 16 mm depth, and very much inflated; squarishly rounded with prominent and nearly central umbones, situated wide apart pointing to each other. Sculpture consists of about 25 lightly granulated radial ribs separated by interstices of same width; the granules prominent on the left valve. Ribs and interstices crossed by moderately strong concentric ridges. Ligament external and dark brown. Adductor impressions nearly equal. Hinge ivalve and bears about 25 transverse teeth, which become larger towards the distal region.
