Description:
The body is obliquely ovate, pallial line is without a sinus, which is a groove in the pallial line. cardinal area is narrow and elongate as well as ligament is external. color of the shell is greyish-white to darker grey on the umbonal and posterior part, with a dark brown periostracum (outer covering). The interior of the shell is white, often with a light yellow color in the umbonal cavity. byssal gape is absent, which means there is no opening in the shell for the byssus, a thread-like organ that some bivalves use to attach themselves to surfaces.
