It exhibits a brick-red coloration on the upper side, often featuring somewhat distinct whitish spots. The lower side, known as the trivium, is lighter, and it may have white to pink-yellow podia. On the bivium, the papillae are long and slender, while the trivium hosts numerous stout podia that are closely packed along the radii and interradii. The mouth is positioned on the ventral side and is encircled by 25 short, sturdy tentacles, accompanied by a large collar of long papillae at their base. The anus is bordered by 5 robust anal teeth. Cuvierian tubules are short, pink in color, and are not expelled. The ossicles of the ventral integument consist of spherical, biscuit-like grains, and the rods are covered with small spines and denticulate pseudo-plates.
