The plates feature brief, upright branchlets that often become more elongated near the outer edges of the colony. These outer portions can divide, and all the branches measure up to 15 millimeters in thickness, gradually narrowing towards the axial corallites, which are slightly protruding, tubular, and easily visible. The radial corallites are pressed close to the surface with flared outer lips. They typically come together in irregular rosette patterns and have a consistent brown coloration.
