Description:
Chthamalus barnesi is a small barnacle recognized by the absence of conical spines on its first cirrus and the presence of finely comb-like (pectinate) setae without basal guards on the second cirrus. It is closely similar to C. challengeri in overall form but can be differentiated by slight variations in the structure of its cirral setae and the configuration of its wall plates.
