A pronounced dorsal ridge that is rounded extends from the mid-back area to the tailstock. The dorsal fin is absent. The flippers are broad, lengthy, and have tips that are pointy. The tips of the long, thin flukes have a distinct median notch and are rounded. There are between 15 and 19 short, compressed, spade-shaped teeth on both the upper and lower jaws. They are off-white on the ventral areas, especially the head and anterior regions of the rump, and pale gray with a blue tint on the sides and back.
