The crab’s carapace is medium in size, about 4-5 centimeters wide in adults. It is almost cubic or slightly broader than long. The surface is closely and uniformly granular. The antennulary flagellum is rudimentary.. The eyes are large, and the orbits are very long. The chelipeds are unequal in both sexes, meaning that the claws are not the same size on both sides. A brush of hairs is present between the bases of the legs.
