Description:
This genus is characterized by having two plate-like or slightly spiraled chloroplasts and a centrally located nucleus situated between the chloroplasts. It primarily consists of unicellular organisms, with filaments being a rare occurrence.The cell body of these organisms is cylindrical, typically measuring between 177 to 300 μm in length and 10.5 to 15.5 μm in width, resulting in a length-to-width ratio (L/W) ranging from 12 to 20. The cell wall is adorned with fine hairy projections, and both ends of the cell are not swollen or enlarged.
